White Flank tells the story of a new generation of white antiracist efforts in a range of local contexts, from Los Angeles to rural Appalachia. Beyond just book clubs and discussion circles, and against the seductions of virtue signaling, Russo explores various projects inviting white communities to take part in antiracist action and equipping them to organize for lasting change.
Russo is Associate Professor of Sociology at Colgate University. This is her second book on social movements that are working across lines of access and power for social justice and collective liberation.
