On Thursday, February 19, President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. informed faculty at St. John's University that the University will no longer recognize their two unions, both formed and recognized in 1970.

ICE detains 2 SUNY Upstate Medical Employees – UUP, CSEA, and SUNY UFS Respond
ICE detained two SUNY Upstate Medical University employees in Syracuse on October 29. Their unions, United University Professions (UUP) and the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) have publicly denounced the detentions. The president of the SUNY University Faculty Senate (UFS) issued a statement in support of the two workers.

It has come to our attention that the four adjunct faculty members recently non-renewed or fired from Brooklyn College may not have been informed of the exact reasons for their terminations.
