Nazareth College Adjunct Faculty Vote to Organize by a Margin of 3 to 1

Adjunct faculty at Nazareth College in Rochester voted by a margin of 3 to 1 to organize under the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The vote was 184 to 61 with 66% of those eligible voting. The organizing campaign took nearly a year. The college administration stated that a union would only get in the way of relations between the college and adjunct faculty but it did not mount an extensive anti-organizing campaign. The campaign was covered by local media including the City Newspaper and WXXI Public Radio.
