Are you a contingent/adjunct or other faculty member that cares about the unique and ongoing challenges facing contingent/adjunct faculty during the COVID-19 crisis? If so, please plan to attend the NYSC AAUP ‘Let’s Talk’ Town Hall Webinar on “The Impact of COVID-19 and Contingents” on WEDNESDAY, April 29th, at 6:30pm.
Among other things we’ll share information on the CARES Act and the AAUP response to COVID-19. We also plan to address the disparities of who is in contingent academic labor (women/POC/etc.) in order to understand the extent of the devastating effects that COVID + cuts is having on us. Last but not least, we will brainstorm ways that we can come together and unite, agitate, and take leading roles in our own chapters and on our own campuses.
Equally important, we want to hear from YOU about how the Corona Virus is playing out in your lives, e.g. teaching challenges, losing classes or appointments, unemployment, housing, family, etc., or maybe you just need a place to vent.
Please join Ángel L. Martínez, Chair of the NYSC AAUP Committee on Faculty Holding Contingent Appointment (see Ángel’s video announcement of this Webinar below) and Sally Dear-Healey, Executive Director of the NYSC AAUP, along with other members of the State Conference leadership via Zoom on Wednesday, 4/29/20 at 6:30 pm.
